Not all materials can be lasered with a diode laser, but this one can. We have extensively tested this material on our own diode lasers and found it to work great. LaserGrade diode wood gets a clean brown edge after lasering (instead of a black charred edge) and LaserGrade diode plastic gets a smooth kerf without burning.
Please note; The maximum thickness that your laser can cut depends on your laser power. Thicker sheet require more power!

Basswood Plywood
Description
A high-quality type of wood, lightweight, and versatile. Basswood plywood has an even colour and is remarkably smooth. The layers do not contain many knots.
Properties
Basswood plywood is made-up of a number of sheets, glued together in a crosswise fashion. This guarantees strength and stability in all directions and it makes it less prone to breakage than solid wood. Basswood plywood does have a main grain direction. The thinner sheets of 3 mm are stiffer along that line. The internal layers contain few knots, which adds to the beautiful appearance of these sheets. Basswood naturally has a light colour, with a subtle and even grain structure.
Applications
Basswood plywood is used for many applications, among which decorative objects, furniture, and art projects. Because it is lightweight and smooth, it is also an ideal choice for precision work, such as model building or musical instruments. The beautiful, almost knot-free layers also make it suitable for decorative panels and interior finishing. If you want to use it outside, the material needs to be finished to protect it against the weather conditions.
