3 tips for using cardboard in your laser cutter
Before you start making a choice from our interesting range of paper and cardboard for your laser cutter, some useful tips for a perfect laserness result.
-
Cut at high speed and power
No matter how good your material is, if you have to cut laser too bad, you will get a little more soot on the edges. You burn the material slowly and the laser creates a larger "heat affected zone". The hot beam is in contact with the material longer.
Laser cutting your paper and cardboard as fast as you can, and the laser beam has as little contact with the material as possible. This evaporates instead of burning, with clean edges as a result. For thicker cardboard it means that your laser has to be 100% power, with thinner species you can re -use the power.
-
Avoid grayboard
Grayboard is a beautiful and cheap material, but it will be a bad lot after laser cutting. Many people use it for the model building, but we no longer sell it. In our opinion, Grayboard gives too much out of it, which does not benefit your project. We recommend felt cardboard as an excellent alternative.
-
Apply double -sided adhesive foil before cutting
The double -sided adhesive foil that you find in our range can also be cut with the laser cutter. Apply it to your cardboard (plastic is also possible) sheet And then cut the shapes you need. This way you make self-adhesive shapes, letters or model parts.
