Characteristics
Poplar is a soft type of wood that can be laser cut to a greater thickness than birch, for example, due to its low weight. In absolute terms, it is less stiff and strong than birch plywood, but the availability of thick sheets allows for the creation of larger objects.
Applications
This material is suitable for load-bearing applications such as model airplanes, (large) boat models and art installations. It is also a suitable choice for signs and the like (if finished for outdoor use).
