Not all materials can be laser cut with a diode laser, but this one can. We have extensively tested this material on our own diode lasers and approved it.
Please note; how thick your laser can cut this material depends on your laser power. Thicker sheets requires more power!
Properties Polyether foam is known as mattress foam, but you can also laser cut shapes from it. In some cases, it can be a cost-effective alternative to PE foam for (temporary) inlays in cases and boxes. However, there are some important differences compared to PE foam. It is less rigid. It is lighter in weight. It is lighter in color (grey). It has open cells, which means it absorbs liquid. It is less suitable for detailed shapes. Please note that the 40 mm thick foam is so thick that it is not suitable for all lasers. Do you have a laser with a short lens (=focal length of the lens is less than 4 inches/100mm)? There's a good chance you won't be able to cut the 40 mm thick foam properly. In that case, choose 2 layers of 20 mm to achieve the same thickness.
