Bamboo side pressed
Description
A hard, fast-growing wood species with a distinct appearance. This sheets consist of side glued ("side pressed") strips.
Properties
Unlike plywood, this is a solid sheet. The outer layers of the bamboo stem are glued together in narrow strips to make it sheet obtain. The bottom and top layers of the sheet are the same and the surface is hard and smooth. Bamboo is stiff and tough in line with the grain direction, but prone to breakage along the veins.
Applications
Solid bamboo is used for enclosures, store displays and front panels, among others.
