Linden plywood
A high-quality wood type, lightweight and versatile. Lime plywood has a uniform color and is exceptionally flat. The layers contain few knots.

Properties
Lime plywood is constructed from cross-bonded layers, which ensures strength and stability in all directions. This makes it less susceptible to breakage than solid wood. However, lime plywood has a main grain direction in which thin sheets up to 3 mm are stiffer. The internal layers contain few knots, contributing to the attractive appearance of the sheets. Lime wood is naturally light in color, with a subtle and uniform grain structure.
Applications
Lime plywood (or linden plywood) is used for many different applications, including decorative objects, furniture, and art projects. Thanks to its lightweight and flat sheets, it is ideal for precision work such as model making and musical instruments. The beautiful, almost knot-free layers also make it suitable for decorative panels and interior finishes. For outdoor use, the material must be finished to provide protection against weather conditions.

MDF
Strong, affordable, and easy to use.
Properties
MDF is a pressed and glued wood fiber board. It is relatively heavy, but also stiff and strong. It is homogeneous (the material is equally strong in all directions and places) and has low thickness tolerances (the thickness varies only slightly).
Applications
Due to its low cost and strength, MDF is ideal for all kinds of projects and prototypes. It is the most obvious choice for objects that will be finished or painted after laser cutting, or where finishing is not necessary. MDF is also a suitable material for technical applications such as 3D printer bodies. Some examples of applications:
- Form studies
- Furniture
- 3D sculptures
- Scale models
- Mechanical constructions
- Sectional models

Birch plywood
A widely used and universally applicable type of wood. It is hard, strong, and has a distinct wood look.
Properties
Birch plywood has been the most popular wood in our assortment for years. It is strong, hard, and has a distinct wood look. Birch is ideal for laser cutting. We offer two variants: European and Asian birch plywood. Both are glued with a special adhesive suitable for laser cutting. They are also B/B quality and have few internal knots. European birch is strong; Asian birch breaks a bit more easily but is more affordable. Birch is light in color and has visible but not overwhelming grain patterns. As it is a natural material, the appearance can vary from sheet to sheet.
Adhesive suitable for laser cutting
The adhesive used for this plywood makes these sheets ideal for laser cutting. This adhesive results in less soot during laser cutting compared to regular plywood. With optimal settings, the cut edge of our birch plywood is honey-brown and does not rub off.
Strong sheets
Due to the cross-grain gluing, this plywood is stronger than solid wood. There is always one direction in which these sheets are stronger, which is the longitudinal direction. European birch is our strongest wood type; birch from Asia breaks a bit more easily.
Birch plywood sheets from Asia have less internal tension, making them less prone to warping. These sheets are generally flatter than birch from Europe.
High quality
Birch plywood has B/B visual quality. This means that there are no knots and minimal repairs visible on the outer layers. It is therefore ideal for visible applications, as the front and back look good and have no unsightly blemishes. The internal layers are also of high quality and have few knots. This is also very important for laser cutters, as knots often cannot be cut through in one pass with the laser and can cause ugly burn marks.
FSC
3 mm and 6 mm European birch plywood originate from sustainably managed forests in Europe and are FSC Mix Credit certified. These sheets are a sustainable choice.
European or Asian Birch?
Are you unsure whether to choose European or Asian birch plywood for laser cutting? Both materials are glued for laser cutting and have B/B visual quality, so they are both high quality.
The difference lies in strength, flatness, and price. European birch is stronger; Asian birch sheets break a bit more easily. However, European birch plywood often warps due to internal tension, a problem we do not see with Asian birch. Additionally, Asian birch is more affordable. Meanwhile, European birch is the only one with FSC certification for the 3 mm and 6 mm thicknesses.
- Are you looking for strong wood? Then choose European birch.
- Are you looking for flat wood? Then choose Asian birch.
- Are you looking for affordable wood? Then choose Asian birch.
- Are you looking for wood with FSC certification? Then choose European birch.

Laser materials for schools and makers' spaces
Laser cutting, just like 3D printing and milling, makes many students, makers and teachers enthusiastic. The detail you can make and the multitude of materials you can use inspire and motivate.
But laser cutting can also be frustrating. A laser cutter is not as fool-proof as an office printer. And the sheet materials that you encounter in the hardware store or that users come up with themselves do not always appear to be easy to laser cut. Sometimes that means a lot of smoke, bad smells and black edges, and sometimes the disappointment of failed cutting sessions. It is also important to keep an eye on safety; many plastics contain toxic substances that are harmful to people and machines.
In short; using the right materials is very important. We have 12 years of experience with laser cutting of wood and plastic and are here to help you.
With a wide range of materials that are guaranteed to be good and safe to laser, you buy security and convenience. This way you can be sure that you maintain the enthusiasm of all laser masters (to be) and let them get the most out of the technology!
