Properties
BioPanel is a sustainable, circular, and biodegradable plastic sheet material. It contains 100% bio-based constituents, such as industrial hemp and a thermo-plastic biopolymer made of lactic acid (PLA). It is lightweight, strong, and available in the colours brown and black. The durability of BioPanel varies per project, but if you use it in signage, it will last at least 10 years. The top surface contains a slight texture and the rear is smooth. It is essential to use protective foil on the bottom for good results with your laser cutter.
Applications
BioPanel is an environmentally friendly alternative for traditional materials such as aluminium and HPL. It is largely used for signage purposes, such as signposting, (road) signs, and information displays. Using BioPanel sheet material reduces our dependence on fossil raw materials, it minimises the use of energy during production because of the low temperatures used, and it prevents residual waste because it can be recycled and it is biodegradable. This makes BioPanel a sustainable choice for a variety of applications.
