Lasersheets now offers Economy, Premium, and Transparent Engraving Laminate, as well as Engraving Foil. In short: Economy is affordable, Premium is high-quality, Transparent has a clear top layer, and the foil is flexible and adhesive. Below, we'll explain which one to choose for different applications.
Engraving Laminate: How It Works

Engraving laminate for laser cutting consists of two colour layers: a coloured top layer and a contrasting bottom layer. Your laser evaporates the thin top layer of the sheet, revealing the layer underneath.
Everything in this collection is LaserGrade, meaning it’s tested for both laser cutting and engraving. All sheets are suitable for CO₂ lasers. The colour variations with a white core are not suitable for diode lasers, but those with a black core are.
Economy Engraving Laminate: For Indoor Use and Large Runs

Economy engraving laminate is the only one on this list that isn't new to our range; we previously sold it as Engraving Laminate ABS. This material is made from ABS plastic and features two contrasting colour layers.

Economy engraving laminate for laser cutting and engraving is available in nine colour combinations, including three metallic colours: gold, silver, and bronze, which have a brushed texture. The other colours have a glossy surface. Economy engraving laminate is 1.5 mm thick and more affordable than Premium engraving laminate, but it’s not UV-resistant.
Use it for type plates, cable marking, control panels, door signs, keychains, and price tags.
Premium Engraving Laminate: For Outdoor and Long-Lasting Use

Premium engraving laminate for laser cutting is new to Lasersheets. These sheets also consist of two colours. The difference from Economy is that Premium engraving laminate is made from PMMA (Acrylic) plastic, making it UV-resistant and long-lasting.

Premium engraving laminate comes in eight colour combinations, including light blue and light green. It is 1.5 mm thick.
Premium engraving laminate is suitable for house number plates, signage, nameplates, and facade signs. It’s also a popular choice for museum labels, locker numbering, price plaques, and personalised work where finish matters.
Transparent Engraving Laminate: Play with Light

Transparent engraving laminate for laser cutters is made from a transparent core and a thin coloured layer. Engrave the colour layer to reveal the transparent layer. The colour layer is usually on the bottom, so you look through the transparent layer.

This material is made from PMMA (Acrylic) plastic. It is 1.5 mm thick and comes in white and black.
Depending on your settings, the engraving might not be fully transparent but rather matte-translucent. You cannot process this material with a diode laser.
It works great with LED lighting. The clear material conducts light, so edge-lit signs, dashboards, and front panels truly shine. Also suitable for CE plates and information signs.
Engraving Foil: High-Contrast Stickers

Engraving foil, the thinnest type on this list, is only 0.2 mm thick. It’s flexible and features an adhesive backing with a protective film. Engraving foil is made from two layers of PMMA (Acrylic).

Engraving foil for laser cutting comes in five colours, including lilac and metallic bronze. Be careful not to fold the sheets; a sharp crease will remain visible in the material.
It's perfect for labels, QR codes, instruction stickers, signage, and nameplates in places where a rigid sheet would be too thick or heavy.

Choose Economy if your project is for indoor use and needs to be affordable. Go with Premium if it’s for outdoor use and needs to last for years. Transparent is for illuminated and high-end signage, and Engraving Foil is perfect if you want to make a sticker.
