A flexible plastic film specifically made for engraving. Based on acrylic (PMMA), with two contrasting layers and an adhesive film on the back.
Sheets with a black core are suitable for CO₂ and diode lasers. Sheets with a white core are only suitable for CO₂.
Properties
Engraving film is ideal for creating engravings; it consists of two contrasting layers, is flexible, and features an adhesive film on the back.
This film is made for engraving. Both laser and mechanical engraving techniques can create a 0.05 mm mark on the surface to reveal the contrasting underlayer. This results in clearly legible and crisp engravings.
Engraving film is made from acrylic, also known as PMMA. This makes it unsuitable for processing with diode lasers. Because this film is flexible, it does not break; however, it is sensitive to creases. A sharp crease can remain visible on the surface for a long time.
Engraving film is 0.2 mm thick and flexible. Its flexibility is comparable to stiff paper. Because this film can bend, it may curl up in your machine. Store this material flat; never roll it up before processing. Keep in mind that additional weights or fixation may be necessary during laser cutting to hold this material in place.
This film is available in three solid colors and two metallic colors. These colors are in our assortment:
White with black core
Yellow with black core
Light green with white core
Lilac metallic with white core
Bronze metallic with black core
All engraving films come standard with an adhesive film on the back; this adhesive layer is, of course, protected by a release liner.
Suitable for indoor use and UV-resistant.
Although this material is break-resistant, it is also sensitive to creasing; once it has been folded, this shape remains visible.
Applications
Engraving film is made for engraving; with the adhesive film on the back, you can stick it directly onto flat and rounded surfaces.
Engraving film is used for name tags, QR codes, labels, signage, instruction labels, doorbell numbers, and so on.
Laser Suitability
These engraving films carry the LaserGrade quality mark for CO₂ lasers. Processing with diode lasers is not recommended. This material is made of acrylic, and a diode laser does not process this effectively.
LaserGrade CO₂: all colors
LaserGrade Diode: not suitable
