Engraving Laminates for Laser Cutting

Engraving laminate is made specifically for engraving, and our sheets are suitable for laser cutting. Lasersheets stocks four different types of engraving material, but which one do you need? We'll explain the differences.

Engraving laminate consists of two layers in contrasting colours. Your laser burns away the thin top layer, revealing the core underneath: sharp, readable text with no paint, ink, or post-processing required. And because you cut the contour in the same run, a nameplate, type plate, or label comes off the machine ready in one go.

All engraving laminates in this collection are LaserGrade: tested for laser cutting and engraving. All types of engraving laminate are suitable for CO2 lasers, but not all sheets are suitable for diode lasers.

Economy Engraving Laminate

The workhorse version, ABS-based. Nine colour combinations, 1.5 mm thick, and available up to 120×60 cm. You can also engrave the black-core variants with a diode laser, making it the most accessible sheet in our range.

Ideal for indoor applications: type plates, cable marking, control panels, door signs, keychains, and price tags. Note: in direct sunlight, the colour may fade over time. For outdoor use, choose Premium.

Premium Engraving Laminate

Same principle, but constructed from PMMA (acrylic). This makes the material colourfast and UV-resistant, so it's suitable for outdoors: house number signs, wayfinding, nameplates, and fascia signs that will withstand years of sun and rain. Also a popular choice for museum plaques, locker numbering, price plaques, and personalised work where finish matters.

Eight colour combinations, including light blue and light green. Only suitable for CO₂ lasers.

Transparent Engraving Laminate

A transparent acrylic core with a coloured layer underneath, in black or white. Engrave into the coloured layer, then you'll see your text through clear acrylic: a sleek and chic look.

Strong in combination with LED: the clear material conducts light, so edge-lit signs, dashboards, and front panels truly shine. Also suitable for CE plates and information boards. 1.5 mm, in sizes from 20×30 to 60×40 cm. CO₂ laser only; the transparent core doesn't work with a diode laser.

Engraving Foil

The same two-layer PMMA construction, but 0.2 mm thin, as flexible as sturdy paper, and featuring an adhesive layer with a protective film. Engrave, cut, peel off the film, and stick it directly onto your product.

Perfect for labels, QR codes, instruction stickers, wayfinding, and nameplates in places where a sheet would be too thick or too heavy. Five colours, including lilac and bronze metallic. Store the sheets flat: a crease will remain visible and cause problems on the laser bed.

Which Engraving Laminate Should You Choose?

In short: Economy for indoor projects and large series at the lowest price, Premium if it's going outdoors or needs to retain its colour for years, Transparent for illuminated and high-end signage, and Engraving Foil if you want to stick the result onto something.
