Acrylic for Laser Cutters: Buy It at Lasersheets
Of all plastics, acrylic is the most suitable choice for laser cutting and engraving. We offer it in a variety of colours and types. Our acrylic turns out perfectly after laser cutting it, with straight and shiny edges. On top of that, with acrylic a high-end finish is guaranteed.
The acrylic in our assortment has been awarded the LaserGrade certification. You can be sure that the sheets are suitable for your laser cutter. Make your choice from, for example, mirror acrylic, clear acrylic, fluorine acrylic, and precision acrylic. These are available in different thicknesses, ranging from 1mm to 6mm. Feel free to browse through our entire assortment to get an idea of the options available to you.
What can you make with acrylic and a laser cutter? As this is a weatherproof material, it is often used for billboards and logos. Because if its high-end finish, it is also an ideal material to use indoors, for example in furniture, led-diffusers, and product displays.
Did you know…
That the name acrylic is short for Polymethyl Methacrylate? You will also find it under the abbreviation PMMA, or as acrylate or acryl. Perspex or Plexiglass are generalised brand names which denote the same thing.
Our Selection of Acrylic Sheet Material
We offer different types of acrylics from great brands such as Versato and Altuglas. All are ideal and come out beautifully if you decide to laser-cut them.
Mirror Acrylic
The back layer of this acryl is a mirror, and is indistinguishable from a real glass mirror. Choose from a natural, pink, anthracite, or gold mirror sheet. You will create beautiful displays, billboards, lights, and sculptures.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm, 120 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 3 mm
Clear Acrylic
Clear acrylic is often used as an alternative to glass. It is lighter in weight, more resistant to the weather outside, and more impact-resistant than glass. Our customers use it for models, front panels, cases, and protective covers, among other things.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm, 120 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm Eco Cast, 4 mm Eco Cast, 5 mm Eco Cast, 6 mm Eco Cast
Frost Acrylic
Our frost acrylic is a semi-transparent sheet with a matt surface. Because of this, it has similar features to our matt acrylic. There is a choice from cyclamen red, colourless Green Cast®, peacock blue Green Cast®, and water. Frost acrylic can be applied in a variety of ways, because of the contrast between its light-transmitting side and its matt side.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm, 120 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 3 mm
Clear Acrylic
These acrylic sheets are transparent with a glossy surface. We sell them in the following colours: anthracite Green Cast®, fuchsia, glass-look Green Cast®, and light blue. As this is a transparent material, it is an ideal alternative for glass. Our customers use it for a variety of purposes, such as windows, jigs, protective hoods, and device housings.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm, 120 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 3 mm
Fluorine Acrylic
Are you looking for a spectacular material with a unique finish? These fluorine acrylic sheets might be interesting for you. The edges glow brightly when this sheet is placed into the light. We sell these sheets in green Green Cast® and orange Eco Cast. As this material really stands out, it is ideal for use in advertising, displays, and lighting fixtures. You can use it to apply details as well.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm, 120 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 3 mm
Opaque Acrylic
You can compare opaque acrylic to frosted glass. It lets 48% of the light through and disperses it as well. That is why this material is often used in led-diffusers, but also for light boxes.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm, 120 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 3 mm
Precision Acrylic
Precision acrylic is a type of acrylic glass, albeit a lot thinner. It is transparent and clear, but its thickness tolerance is lower. That is why it is used in model building projects, for optic filters, medical devices, or as guard plates.
- Dimensions: 20 x 30 cm, 60 x 30 cm, 60 x 60 cm
- Thicknesses: 0,5 mm
Other Options
Apart from these individual options, you can also come to us for acrylic sheets value packs and Acrifix acrylic glue.
Acrylic Certifications Explained
Before you choose your perfect plexiglass sheet, it is good to clarify what the different certifications on our acrylic materials stand for. You have come across them already, but what does Greencast, Eco Cast and LaserGrade mean exactly?
- Greencast is a cast acrylic, made from 100% recycled plastic. It is just as high-quality as non-recycled acrylic and can even be recycled again in turn.
- Eco Cast acrylic is similar to Greencast, just with a different certification. It is high-quality, recycled, and recyclable.
- LaserGrade is the certification that gives you the certainty that the material you are looking at is suitable for laser cutting and engraving. All Lasersheets materials have been awarded this certificate, including our acrylic sheets.
