Wood is a renewable resource, but only if forests are carefully managed. Without good forest management, forests disappear faster than they can recover. That is why it is important that the wood we use comes from forests that are sustainably maintained, with respect for people, animals and nature.
Lasersheets is officially FSC®-certified. This means that we are allowed to sell FSC®-certified wood with the FSC® label on it. Our collection includes birch Plywood (3 and 6 mm, European), MDF (3, 4, 6 and 9 mm) and bamboo Plywood (0.5, 1.5, 3 and 5 mm). Not coincidentally, these are also our most popular wood species.
Important to know: companies that are not certified may buy FSC®-certified wood, but the wood loses the certification as soon as they resell it. So they may no longer offer it as an FSC® product or use the FSC® logo. Because we are certified, Lasersheets can offer this materials with an official FSC® claim - so you can be confident that the wood really does come from responsibly managed forests.
FSC® certification means more than just a label. It means that everyone in the chain - from forest manager to sawmill, trader and retailer - works according to the same strict requirements. Those requirements are not only about sustainable forest management, but also about fair working conditions and protection of local communities. Only when all links are certified can a product carry the FSC® label.
