With acrylic mirror sheet (also known as plexiglass mirror or acrylic mirror), you can create beautiful mirrored projects that you couldn't achieve with an ordinary glass mirror. This material combines the clarity of a regular mirror with the workability of acrylic. You can cut out any shape you desire with your laser cutter, perfect for wall mirrors, product-displays, exhibition stands, advertising signs, lamps, or mirrored letters.
The material consists of a transparent acrylic base with a mirrored backing layer. This construction makes the material 25 times stronger than glass and much lighter in weight. These sheets are extruded (XT), which means they are flattened to a thinner thickness after casting. This process not only makes the material cost-efficient but also reduces thickness variation.
You can choose from silver, gold, pink, and anthracite as mirror colours - all equally clear and wrinkle-free for a perfect reflection.
Good to know before you start: This material is only suitable for indoor use. The mirror layer on the edges can corrode outdoors. For the best result, you attach mirror acrylic to a flat surface - this prevents distortion in the reflection.
There are various methods possible for attaching your acrylic mirror. The most commonly used are mounting adhesive or a screw connection through the sheet. Due to extrusion, the sheet is under slight tension, which means you need to proceed with extra care during processing. This requires a bit more patience when laser cutting, milling, drilling, or engraving, but with the right settings, you will achieve beautiful results. Never apply (double-sided) tape to the mirror layer, as this will damage the material.
Useful tip: leave the protective film on during processing. This reduces the risk of scratches or damage. Only remove the film when you are about to mount the sheet.
Key features:
UV-resistant
Two times lighter than glass
Thirty times stronger than glass
Perfect for indoor projects
You can easily laser cut, saw, mill, and drill mirror acrylic. Perfect for making:
Decorative mirror elements
Mirrored letters and logos
Eye-catchers in displays
Lighting projects
